Elbridge Gerry

Elbridge Gerry represented Massachusetts at the Constitutional Convention. He was born in 1744 at Marblehead, MA. Gerry graduated from Harvard in 1762. Gerry was apart of the committee that produced the Great Compromise but he disliked the compromise. He refused to sign the Constitution because it didn't have a Bill Of Rights and that he believed it was a threat to republicanism. He also thought it centralized too much power at the federal level. He was one of the most vocal at the Convention.
